We are excited to announce the rollout of StopFinder. StopFinder is a parent app that is used to see your student's bus schedule, and to receive notifications from the transportation department. We will begin sending out invitations for the app beginning Monday, October 16th, and continuing the rollout over the next two weeks, a few buses at a time. Only the primary contact will receive an invitation via the email we have on file in Final Forms. Emails will have instructions on how to download and setup access. For more information please use the following link to learn more about StopFinder.

Wow, congratulations to the Adena FFA Soils Judging Team for their amazing performance at the Urban Land Evaluation competition! Seeing young students interested in soil management and conservation is truly inspiring. Even though they didn't make it to the state contest, they should be incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication. And a big shoutout to Lorelei for placing 8th as an individual, Jocob 37th, Logan 45th, Laney 46th, and Lukus 49th. It's especially impressive considering that 4 out of the 5 team members were new to the contest. I hope that more students will participate in the future and learn about the importance of soil science. Keep up the great work, Adena FFA Soils Judging Team!

We did it! The Adena Cross Country Team brought home two medals from the Panther XC Invitational! We are so proud of our team for all their hard work and dedication!

We are thrilled to share that Dave Roever will be giving a presentation to our high school students and honored military at our upcoming Military Appreciation Assembly in the gymnasium on October 12th. All active military and veterans are welcome to attend a breakfast with Dave at 8 a.m., followed by his powerful message of "50+ Years of Resiliency and Hope." Dave skillfully uses his life experiences to address issues relevant to his audience and offers practical solutions to life's challenges. From his time in the war, he draws on themes of loneliness, peer pressure, disfigurement, pain, and triumph to craft a message of courage, commitment, and survival. Dave's words can touch and transform those who hear him. This is an incredible opportunity to hear from a true hero and be inspired by his message.

Third grade had a tea party Friday to celebrate the completion of their first reading unit, The Wind and the Willows: Classic Tales. In this unit, students read Aladdin, The Wind and the Willows and Alice in Wonderland. Thank you to all the third grade families who donated cookies and drinks to make this culminating event come to life!

Our Adena High School Anatomy students took on a unique challenge in their Anatomy class recently, turning ordinary pickles🥒 and olives into fascinating mysteries! 🧩 Each pickle/olive combo was named and came with its own mysterious trauma. With teamwork and a dash of imagination, our students embarked on a journey to solve the "dill-emma" behind these intriguing trauma cases. 🤔🌟 Thank you Miss. Leedy for putting together such an amazing and engaging lesson for our students!

Wow, I was blown away by the Greek Gods presentations Mr. J. Spriggs' Middle School Social Studies class put on today! These students are so talented and knowledgeable about ancient mythology. I learned so much from them and can't wait to see what they come up with next. Great job, everyone!

Just had an excellent demonstration from Instructor Josh Bluck on how to use a table saw safely! As Adena Agriculture students, it's important that we know how to handle these tools properly to prevent any accidents. Thanks for the great lesson, Mr. Bluck!

The world might look a bit clearer for some Adena Local students. Thursday, members of the Vision Van were performing vision screenings for students in the district. In the past, this program has discovered vision issues among children — some minor, while others are much more complex and would have gone undiagnosed.

Mr. Spriggs's 6th graders learned how to ORIENTATE A MAP by placing the compass on the map and rotating the map to align the magnetic compass needle with the northerly grid lines, ensuring the red end points north on the map. They also learned to CALCULATE A STRAIGHT LINE DISTANCE by placing a straightedge between two known points on a map and using the Scale Bar to determine its distance from point to point. Who knew map reading could be so much fun?

Students in Mrs. Cormany's Graphic Design 1 class, a satellite program of Pickaway-Ross CTC, apply their design skills as they design a business card with Adobe Illustrator.
