**NEW POLICY** 

When picking up your student, you MUST always present a valid photo ID!


There will be a mandatory parent meeting for any student and their parent participating in a winter sport at Adena JH and HS.  This meeting will be held in the Auditeria at 7:00pm on November 14th.

SENIOR INFORMATION:

COLLEGE VISITS:   If you are planning a visit to a college, please pick up a COLLEGE VISITATION REQUEST form in the office.      Please turn in this form prior to your college visit for pre-approval to be excused for this date.  ***Please note*** This form is for pre-approval per the student handbook.   Documentation from the College/University must be provided upon return from the visitation in order for this to be considered as an excused absence.

If you have not ordered your cap and gown yet do that ASAP! Please contact Jostens directly or via their website to do this. Jostens cap/gown/announcements/senior apparel. Please email Mrs. Lewis concerning forms and question at melinda.lewis@adenalocalschools.com. Please understand caps/gowns need to be ordered at this time because each gown is made to order so this is a lengthy process. Gowns will arrive in mid-March.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES


JUNIOR HIGH INFORMATION:

The Junior High Honor Society is sponsoring a pie in the face raffle contest for 6th through 12th grade! Each ticket is $2 and gets you entered in the raffle for your chance to pie a teacher in the face!! Tickets are being sold now through December 4, and can be purchased starting 8th period in the hall by the bus doors!


EIGHTH GRADE  INFORMATION:


Washington DC Trip - registration and first payment for the trip is due by October 7. We are taking the first 48 students who register, all other students will be on the waiting list UNLESS we reach 70 students and take two buses. Please email Miss Shaffer at kacey.shaffer@adenalocalschools.com for a registration packet.

BAND INFORMATION: 

Adena Junior High Choirs Winter Concert- Sunday, December 10 @ 2pm. This concert will be held at the Frankfort United Methodist Church located at 30 Church Street, Frankfort, OH.


LIBRARY INFORMATION :


If you have any questions concerning the library, please contact angie.williams@adenalocalschools.com    Our SORA app connects students to the public library in addition to our collection.  This opens up our students to thousands of more titles.


GENERAL INFORMATION:


Pre-approval is required for a student to be excused for vacation days.  Please fill out the attached vacation form and return to the office at least one week before taking vacation days.  CLICK HERE FOR VACATION REQUEST FORM  Per the school policy/handbook, only up to five days may be excused per school year for vacation.


MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION:


If your child is missing a clothing item, please ask them to check in the lost and found in the High/Middle School office.  All items left at the end of the year will be donated.


If you would like your child to have a second bus stop, a new form must be filled out every school year.  Keep in mind that requests can only be honored if there is room on that bus and this is for a sitter or relative only.  To utilize this 2nd stop, a note must be sent to the school with your child prior to being permitted to ride their 2nd stop bus.  Please keep in mind, there is, at the least, a two day turn-around for approval or denial of your request.   

  

If the nurse has called you to pick up a child, please come to the high/middle school doors to be permitted to come inside to sign out your child. You must present a valid ID to pick up your child. You will then be sent to the elementary school outside doors so your child may be released to you without your sick child having to travel throughout the school. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. For this to be an excused absence, please send a note with your child the next attending day.


If you are dropping off your child, please do not enter the school building.  During school hours, your child will enter the front of the building (by the ponds) and sign themselves into the school building.  Before and after school drop-off and pick-up is in the back of the school by the gymnasium.  When picking your child up, please park in the parking space in the parking lot and your child will find you there.


Parking Permits. Student parking is in the parking lot at the back of the school building by the gym in the back two sections closest to the gym area and playground. All student/staff vehicles must be registered and must display an Adena Parking Permit Placard. To obtain a permit, students, please, return the attached form to the high school office along with their driver’s license and payment of $5. Final Forms must be completed to obtain your permit.
